Submitting a Project for Consideration by AHAD

Who does AHAD help?

Since the foundation of AHAD is the Bahá’í Writings, we are interested in assisting projects which have a strong relationship to the principles described in those Writings. These projects, therefore, may be formed around any of those principles, including the following:

  • The oneness of mankind
  • The equality of men and women
  • Unity in diversity
  • The unity and fundamental agreement of science and religion
  • The nature, importance, and use of consultation

What can AHAD do for my project?

Many of the groups and individuals who come to us with project proposals and on-going projects which come to us do not yet have their non-profit status. This generally means that these projects will not be eligible for the grants which are available from many sources, since most grant sources will not to provide their funds to individuals.

AHAD, which is a 501(c)(3) Federal non-profit corporation (IRS letter [PDF]), therefore can act as the recipient of grant monies on behalf of those who wish to pursue projects. Likewise, given that we have gained and administered a number of grants, these grant sources are reassured by this history, and therefore more inclined to offer assistance.

AHAD’s current and former Board members and those with whom we work have extensive experience in many areas related to Bahá’í SED (including, for example, experience with grant writing, establishing Boards, developing and running SED projects and businesses, etc.), and we find that many of those who work with us report that the consultative assistance we are able to provide is very helpful.

Please contact us (ahad-board@ahad-sed-org) if you have any questions, or wish to explore the possibility of working with us.

“…is not the object of every Revelation to effect a transformation in the whole character of mankind, a transformation that shall manifest itself both outwardly and inwardly, that shall affect both its inner life and external conditions? For if the character of mankind be not changed, the futility of God’s universal Manifestations would be apparent.…”
